1in3 isn't a frightning new government statistic - like 1 in 3 tomatoes in a recent study actually showed the "killer" gene - but a simple challenge to read one book in three years. The book is the Bible, and I'm well up for it.

Someone recently sent me an e mail telling me that they have 2 dollars left in their bank account, they are behind in their rent, that they have bad credit and are late in other payments.

I know a little bit more about this person also because they are a former client from a rehab center that I work at. given the circumstances I really do not think it would be prudent to be sending him money but this is what he said to me "you have not because you ask not" so he asked me for $100.00. I really don't think that his particular scripture reference he has given to me so I can give him some money is in context and I am a little concerned that perhaps he may need to come back into our program but from a scriptural stand point what would you say to him regarding this statement and then from that point i will be addressing some other issues.thank you for your time

Richard,
I appreciated your post on humility. It's such a vital, but misunderstood and underutilized, trait.

We've just completed a book on ego and humility in the business world and thought you might be interested.

Thanks and best wishes.

Probably not the easiest way to get hold of me, Tris - sorry again for being late.

If I'd used a ladle it wouldn't have been as funny, and it tasted just as good.

David, that would be a logical conclusion - if we accept that the gospel of Judas is more reliable than the others. However, in the light of historical and manuscript evidence, the inconsistancy of Judas with the rest of Scripture and the fact that the Bible's gospels were written by eyewitnesses or those who based their accounts on eyewitness reports (to name a few evidences) I think that's a pretty big leap.

If you want more details, do have a look at the bethinking.org article that I mentioned at the end and see what you think.
